Meet the Hardest Working Cities of 2016

Hard work never takes a break, and our team at Freightliner is no exception. We have been crunching numbers, planning events, and pouring concrete trophies to prep for the 2016 Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities tour.

Earlier this month we announced the next four Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities at World of Concrete 2016. If you happened to miss it, we’ll catch you up. Here are North America’s 2016 Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities:

• New York City: The city that never sleeps is always hard at work. It is number one in North America for number of transportation establishments, contribution to GDP, vocational truck sales, and construction and truck driver employment. We can’t wait to paint the big apple orange with our Hardest Working Cities swag.
• Charlotte: The Queen City is filled with hard-working citizens who are a big contributing factor to North Carolina’s growth. Charlotte is in the top 10% of cities in North America for construction employment, manufacturing employment, growth in total employment rate, number of transportation establishments, and percentage contribution to GDP. Must be all that sugar in their sweet tea.
• Edmonton: Canada’s sixth largest city is number one in North America for the average number of hours worked and vocational truck sales. In addition, the city is number three in per capita infrastructure expenditure in the province of Alberta. Those short, cold winter days can’t slow Edmontonians down.
• Seattle/Tacoma: While most people associate Seattle with hipsters and coffee, it turns out that coffee is fueling a solid construction and manufacturing workforce. Seattle/Tacoma is in the top 15 cities for construction employment and in the top 20 cities for manufacturing employment. It’s also in the top 15 cities for heavy, tractor trailer, and light truck drivers and has a high level of contribution to GDP.
