"Financing through Daimler Truck Financial is extremely easy. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I was pleased with the simple process. Freightliner and Daimler Truck Financial handled everything in unison and did it incredibly professionally and in a timely way. My experience with Freightliner Trucks and the Daimler Truck Financial people is the reason we will always stick with this brand." — Matthew Austin, president of Holcombe Energy

Holcombe Energy Resource, one of Pennsylvania’s largest oil and gas service providers, was founded in 2009 by Matthew Austin with only $8,000. Austin was inspired to launch Holcombe at the start of the oil boom and credits much of his success to support from the local community and finding a partner to help finance key equipment needs.

Established to provide transportation services to the oil and gas industry around northeastern Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale formation, Holcombe specializes in providing environmentally conscious, sustainable solutions to a region-wide footprint of customers.

To date, Holcombe has exclusively used Freightliner® trucks in its fleet. Austin credits Freightliner’s toughness, dependability and attractiveness for his loyalty. Austin says another critical aspect in his loyalty to Freightliner is the customer service provided by Daimler Truck Financial.

“Financing through Daimler Truck Financial is extremely easy. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I was pleased with the simple process,” said Austin. “Freightliner and Daimler Truck Financial handled everything in unison and did it incredibly professionally and in a timely way. My experience with Freightliner Trucks and the Daimler Truck Financial people is the reason we will always stick with this brand.”

Austin enjoys the ruggedness that comes with owning a Freightliner truck. In the energy and oil business, drivers often face mountainous and harsh conditions. Holcombe currently owns 10 122SD Tri-Axle Water Trucks.

Holcombe’s 122SD Tri-Axle Water truck is equipped with a Cummins ISX15. The 122SD also features a wheel cut up to 50 degrees that helps negotiate tight spaces. Steer axles on the 122SD are rated from 12,000 to 22,000 lbs., drive axles from 23,000 to 70,000 lbs., and the 122SD is equipped with an industry-leading 1,900-square-inch radiator to cool engines up to 600 hp/2050 lb.-ft. torque with loads up to 160,000 lbs.

122SDs work well on rough roads and unpaved job sites. Every 122SD is built with “pillow-block” front cab mounts designed to dampen shock and vibration. The rear cab mounts use air springs spaced apart to give the cab a wide stance for great stability. This ensures you get a good feel for the road. The 122SD cab meets or exceeds the rigorous Swedish and European ECE R-29 crash-worthiness requirements, helping drivers stay safe in dangerous work conditions.

“The Freightliner 122SD represents my company and what we stand for. When people see our trucks on the road, they associate Holcombe Energy and Freightliner together, and that makes me extremely proud,” said Austin. “Freightliner trucks are solid and reliable. When you’re pressed for time, that’s exactly what you need.”
